Preston Love
Cool Ade

Preston Love (1921-2004) moved from Omaha to LA and made it big as a sax session guy working for Motown and other labels. Prior to rent-paying success, he recorded the album 'Preston Love’s Omaha Bar-B-Q' in 1968 which featured the bluesy funk track 'Cool Ade'. The album included Johnny Otis and his 14 year-old son Shuggie on guitar who would go on to big things as a blues player in the future. (More info at Funky 16 Corners) Gotta love how Love and Otis credit themselves for "BS vocals" on the label!
